The Yates Family has owned horses for breeding, showing and pleasure since 1957. Much of our family life has revolved around horses from the first pony for our now grown children to getting the first miniature for our grandchildren in 1989. We can't imagine a life without the horses that have been so much a part of our lives. From showing of Saddlebreds in the 60's, Appaloosa's in the 70's, Arabians, and Quarter horses in the 80's our barns have never been empty. Now, with our miniatures, we realize we have saved the best for last.
The focus of our program has been to improve the Miniatures through selective breeding and each year our foals are better than the year before. Our mares and foals receive lots of tender love and care, so their temperament toward people is one of friendliness and curiosity. We have traveled with our miniature horses to schools, nursing homes, day care programs, and many parades throughout Georgia and the Carolinas. They have always been on their best behavior and made lots of friends everywhere we have taken them.
